Spill Barriers
1. System Description
General
Spill barriers and barrier systems are suited for
quickly locking and blocking building openings and yard entrances to prevent
uncontrolled spilling of water-hazardous substances in case of an emergency or
fire. This also concerns contaminated spill water leaking from burning
buildings. IBS barriers systems enable the fast and economic protection of
regions prone to floods.
Spill Barrier - Principle
In principle, IBS' system consists of two components:
The end posts, which are installed in the building's opening or in front of it
and the dam beams mounted between the end posts.
A ground track is not required. The system is
connected with the ground by means of an extremely flexible ground seal.
Vertical tensioning tools press the ground seal onto the installation site.
Flexibility
The outstanding features of the IBS systems are their
fast application, easy handling as well as the large-dimension special seals
with an outstanding compensation of ground unevenness of 15 mm, which also
allows their application on contaminated and rough surfaces like pavement,
button or diamond pattern plate and for special cases, e.g. track beds.
By manufacturing its own spill barriers, IBS is capable to provide
special solutions and modifications of standard models in a short time at
economic prices.
IBS has developed its own automatic barrier variant. This is based on
certified locking systems fed via gas pressure cartridges. Extensive and costly
external energy supplies like compressed air or electric energy are no longer
required.
IBS also offers mobile support posts or additional
braces for larger distances.
Materials
- Barrier consisting of extruded aluminium sections (AlMgSi0,5) with powder coating
(standard colour RAL 3000)
- End
posts made of aluminium
- All
metal parts are powder-coated and the steel parts are galvanised.
- Seals
made of PE
