Stop logs

1. System Description

General

A dstop log serves to block off openings (for inspection of fittings inside or used as emergency shutoff). Other application options are the use as scum board, spill threshold or simply for controlling water quantities and paths in the most varied sewage treatment plants and industries.

Stop log - Principle

In principle, IBS' system consists of two components: The end posts, which are installed in the canal or in front of it and the dam beams stacked between the end posts.  A ground track is not required. The system is connected with the ground by means of an extremely flexible ground seal. This compensates unevenness within the admissible tolerances for concrete work (DIN 18202, table 3). So-called bracing chiplets are used to press the ground seal against the installation surface as well as the dam beams against each other in vertical direction. Center posts are used for blocking off large spreads. These are either designed as permanent screw fittings or demountable with anchor plates.

Flexibility

Inclines of up to 5% with ground unevenness levels acc. to DIN 18202, table 3, can be compensated.
Stainless steel dam beams are usually 200 mm high. The variable construction allows almost any flood level grade.

Materials

  • Dam beams made of extruded aluminium sections (AlMgSi0,5 F22), stainless steel 1.4301, stainless steel 1.4571 or higher-quality
  • End posts made of stainless steel 1.4301, stainless steel 1.4571 or higher-quality, pressing tool made of stainless steel 1.4301
  • Anchor plates made of stainless steel (V2A, 1.4301 / V4a, 1.4571) with black steel anchoring
  • Seals made of EPDM, PE / PUR, for drinking water use with KTW certificate

Due to the applied high-quality materials, which have been used in the wastewater sector for many years, we guarantee long durability under proper storage conditions. The system is designed in such a way that planned replacement purchases are not required during the material service life.

Required Tools

The assembly of the system only requires simple tools (ratchet wrench with the corresponding hexagon sockets). Dismantling is very easy when using an extraction tool for pulling the dam beams. Semi-automatic extracting tools are available for heavy dam beams or dam boards.

2. System Variants

The following product types are available:

  • IBS DBV-AL-50 with 50 mm wide and 166 mm or 300 mm high dam beams
  • IBS DBV-VA-50 with 50 mm wide and 200 mm high dam beams
  • IBS DBV-AL-100 with 100 mm wide and 150 mm high dam beams
  • IBS DBV-VA-100 with 100 mm wide and 200 mm high dam beams
  • IBS DBV-AL-150 with 150 mm wide and 225 mm high dam beams
  • IBS DBV-VA-150 with 150 mm wide and 200 mm high dam beams

These product types provide technical variation options that allow custom-tailored solutions for just about any project situation. Other heights are also available for the VA dam beams (stainless steel 1.4301 or 1.4571).

3. Installation Situations

Several installation variants are available for the installation of the frames.
